“As a minister with twenty-four years of pastoral experience, I wish I’d had this book at the outset of my ministry. As a seminary professor, I wish all my students had this book at the outset of their ministries.”

Dr. Don Whitney
Associate Professor of Spiritual Formation
Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, MO

“This is precisely the sort of book we need in the church today. The rising generation desperately needs to hear from wise and humble older men. I’m grateful to God for this band of brothers who have gathered together under the leadership of Dr. Thomas Ascol to provide the church with this thoughtful and accessible guide to train up the next generation of faithful men to serve God for His glory and not their own.”

Burk Parsons
Co-pastor, St. Andrews Chapel in Sanford

“There is a wealth of grace and wisdom in this book from a wealth of pastoral experience by those who are writing. It would be my hope that it will serve all pastors in general and in particular the next generation of pastors seeking to advance the gospel and build the local church for the glory of God.”
